What This Is

Student Loans Central is a free educational tool for tracking student loans you report yourself, modeling your repayment options, and building a payoff plan. By using it you agree to these terms.

Self-Reported Data

Everything in your dashboard comes from what you type in, upload, or optionally connect. We do not independently verify balances, interest rates, terms, servicers, or payment history, and we are not a system of record.

Every number we display — balances, progress, interest, payoff dates, savings — is an estimate derived from your inputs. Your servicer's statement is the authoritative source. Confirm anything important with them before acting on it.

Not Financial Advice

Nothing here — reports, program descriptions, rate information, or calculations — is financial, legal, or tax advice. We are not a lender, servicer, or registered advisor. Consult a qualified professional before making loan decisions.

Autopay Is a Mirror, Not a Payment

Our autopay feature lets you mirror the autopay selections you have made on your servicer's website so your progress updates automatically instead of you logging every payment by hand. We never move money, never enroll you in autopay, and never contact your servicer on your behalf.

Setting up autopay here does not cause a payment to happen. Whether a real payment is made, and any consequence of a missed or late payment, is between you and your servicer.

Federal Loan Refinancing Warning

Refinancing federal student loans into a private loan is permanent and irreversible. You permanently lose access to income-driven repayment, Public Service Loan Forgiveness, and federal forbearance and deferment protections. We display warnings before refinancing content, and we are not liable for the consequences of your refinancing decisions.

Projections & AI Output

Payoff dates, interest savings, break-even points, program eligibility, and report content are modeled estimates, some of them generated by AI. They can be incomplete or wrong, especially if your loan details are missing or inaccurate. Verify eligibility and terms with your servicer or the program administrator before you act.

Guest Mode

Guest sessions are temporary and carry no persistence guarantee. Guest data may be purged at any time, including when you close or reload the browser. Create an account if you want your data kept.

File Uploads

You must have the right to upload the documents you provide. We process them to extract loan and payment details, which includes sending their contents to our AI provider. Do not upload documents containing other people's information or data you are not permitted to share.

Servicer Connections

If you link a servicer account, you authorize read-only access to your loan data through our connection provider, subject to that provider's terms. You can revoke it any time in Settings.

Agent (MCP) Connections

You may connect an AI assistant to your account. You are responsible for what you authorize and for how that assistant uses the access. Tokens are scoped to your own data and revocable at any time.

Your Account

Accounts are for one person. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. You may not use the platform for unlawful purposes, attempt to access other users' data, scrape it, overload it, or reverse engineer it.

Availability

The service is free and provided as-is. Features may change, pause, or be removed, and we do not guarantee uptime or uninterrupted access.

Deletion

You can reset a portfolio, clear all data, or delete your account at any time under Account data in Settings. Deletion is permanent.

Limitation of Liability

The platform is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for financial losses, missed payments, lost benefits, or other damages arising from decisions made using this platform. Because the service is free, our total liability to any user is $0.

Changes

We may update these terms and will revise the date at the top. For material changes affecting account holders, we will notify you by email in advance. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
